Just purchased computer that came installed with Windows 8 Pro Build 9200. Gah! Of course there is no product key. I would like to have a working version of Windows 8, but am not sure how to go about this. I don't want to just purchase a product key which would most likely be illegal. Would I need to buy Windows 8 and install that over this, or would I need to purchase Windows 8.1? I tried updating to the free Windows 8.1 and of course it isn't working because my OS is not legit. Windows 8 is the only OS that has been on this computer...no other versions, so I cannot even install Windows 7 if I wanted. That is what I am understanding through my research. Would prefer it though! My 'Activate Windows' watermark has been up for a few days now.
