This article is for Outlook Web App, which is used by organizations that manage email servers running Exchange Server 2013 or 2010. If you're using Office 365 or Exchange Server 2016, your email program is Outlook on the web. For help with Outlook on the web, see Get help with Outlook on the web. Complete Guide to Download Emails from Outlook Web App. It is true that Microsoft provides no direct approach in O365 that can export emails from Outlook Web App to PST on desktop. In such a situation, you can take the help of reliable and highly efficient SysTools Office 365 Backup & Restore Software.
The light version of Outlook Web App is designed for use with older web browsers that aren't supported by the standard version of Outlook Web App, for use over slow connections, and to meet accessibility needs by providing a simplified interface that’s easier to use with screen readers.
The light version of Outlook Web App has fewer features than the standard version of Outlook Web App. For example, there are no separate controls to change the size of fonts. Instead, see the Windows accessibility website. This includes links to accessibility options for your operating system. For example, you can make everything on your screen bigger, increase the contrast, use the built-in narrator to read you what’s on the screen, and more. For more information about different options in each version, see Compare the standard and light versions of Outlook Web App. For information about supported browsers, see Supported browsers for Outlook Web App.
Note: If you’re wondering why you’re seeing the light version of Outlook Web App, how to get back to the standard version of Outlook Web App, or how to use a different email program on a mobile device or computer, see Outlook Web App Light.

Specify whether to use the standard or light version of Outlook Web App
If you’re using a supported browser, you can choose which version of Outlook Web App to use.
If you’re in the light version of Outlook Web App:
Go to Options in the upper corner and select Outlook Web App version in the navigation pane.
Clear the Use the light version of Outlook Web App check box.
Select Save.
Sign out of the light version, close your browser, and sign back in using a supported browser. You might need to close all open browser windows before signing in again.
If you’re using the standard version of Outlook Web App:
In a web browser, sign in to Outlook Web App using the URL provided by the person who manages email for your organization. Enter your user name and password, and then select Sign in.
At the top of the page, select Settings > Options > Display settings > Outlook Web App version.
Select the Use the light version of Outlook Web App check box, and then select OK.
I'm in need of backuping my emails in Outlook Web App but I can't find an export/import function in OWA. My question is:
Can you export emails from OWA and how?

No you cannot. Outlook Web App is purely meant to send and receive email, but does not have a backup function.
If you want to backup email to an external medium, you will need a client such as Microsoft Outlook that supports this.
LPChipLPChipHere is the enhancement request. You can drag and drop emails to add them as attachments as a workaround (see this answer). You can download an email like this:
- Start a new message
- Click to edit the message in a new window.
- Select all emails you would like to download.
- Drag the emails to the new message. This will add them as attachments.
- Click the down arrow on the attachment and download the email message, or send the message to yourself and then download all attachments.
When viewing an email you want to download; Select the down arrow which is located on the top-right-hand corner of the email. Select 'Print' and confirm 'print' again. When your browser's print page window opens up, click 'change destination' and select 'save to PDF' from the list of printers. Click 'Save'.Now you have a PDF version of that email.
